Highland Baptist Church Future Corporate Worship Planning

                                                      Please Read Very Carefully

As of June 10 2020, the seriousness of the deadly COVID19 virus has not changed.  There is no vaccine, no cure and no change in its ability spread.  While the knowledge base increases, social interaction trends are identified and hospital capacities remain manageable, many places are allowing limited gatherings of people inside smaller enclosed buildings.

Because there has been much interest in congregating inside the Church facility, the leadership implemented a survey to get a count of those who wish to attend limited meetings.  Thanks to all who have responded to the survey.  There is enough interest and large enough quantity of participants to prompt plans for meeting inside the Church facility.
Be aware the plans are likely to change and if warranted all inside meetings will be stopped.

Remember the top safety priorities for all individuals are: 1) maximizing personal distance, 2) minimizing contact with contaminable surfaces, 3) protecting yourself and 4) protecting others.  Touching anything (door knobs, walls, seats, etc.) inside the facility causes contamination and must be cleaned.  It is every person’s responsibility to ensure the facility is as “germ free” and “safe” as possible.

All “High Risk” individuals are asked to refrain from attending inside the facility.  An individual is considered “High Risk” if they meet any of the following criteria:  over 65 years of age, chronic lung disease, moderate to severe asthma, serious heart conditions, compromised immune systems, including those undergoing cancer treatment, bone marrow or organ transplant protocols, treatment for immune deficiencies, immune depleting medications, severe obesity (BMI > 40), diabetes, chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis, and liver disease.

Due to the seriousness of the virus and for the safety of every individual entering the facility, the leadership has established this set of changes for allowing inside meetings.  The following good faith practices are in accordance with CDC/Alabama State recommendations.

Until further notice, only the Fellowship Hall and Bathrooms are deemed available for 1 hour during inside meeting use. Sunday Morning and Wednesday Evening are the current allowable times.  Because it is a large area to clean, locks are in place on Fellowship Hall doors to prevent contamination and the need for subsequent re-cleaning when not in use.  One person in bathroom at a time is mandatory to minimize potential virus spread.  The Fellowship Hall and Bathrooms will be cleaned two times a week.

One person/family entering or exiting the building/fellowship hall.  It is important to arrive, enter and be seated immediately.  Plan for one door for entry, two doors for exit (if the side door is fixed).  Follow signs if available.

The Sanctuary, Classrooms, Nursery and Kitchens are not to be used (to prevent contamination).
Face Masks are required while inside the facility, wearing Gloves is optional but considered a source of contamination when touching surfaces.

Close proximity/extended socializing in the facility is discouraged to minimize potential virus spread.
Outside far proximity/extended socializing is allowable by maintaining proper distances.

Use of Food, Drinks or Snacks is prohibited.
Bulletins, Hymn books, Pens, Pencils and Children’s Toys will not be available or provided.
Bring your own Bibles, Cushions, Foot Stools, Tissues and other items.  All items must be taken home when leaving.
Cushions on the Pews have been removed to allow cleaning with Bleach solution.
One Offering Plate is available in the fellowship hall.  (in addition to the bucket used for parking lot services)

Very important to obey all posted signs.
The Playground is not locked and will not be cleaned.  (enter at your own risk)
Sunday School material is available.  (in boxes on table outside Pastors office).

Urgent need for Lysol Spray Disinfectant.
